WE WEAR BLUE
Children in the schoolyard
Watch the play
Elders in wheelchairs
Waiting day by day
The National Anthem
Plays in the back ground
Assuring all people
That we are around.
We Wear Blue.
~
Some see us as enemies
Others as friends
Yet we’re loyal to all
Our work never ends.
We teach those children
About gangs, guns and drugs
And also those elders
About how to avoid thugs.
We Wear Blue.
~
We are not black-hats
We don’t want to kill
Our choices are made for us
By those who can’t chill
Judges we’re not
That’s misconception
We all pray to God though
To guide our decisions.
We Wear Blue.
~
The stress is a burden
We try not to take home
For if we don’t balance
We find our wives gone
And we all know colleagues
Who resign due to pressure
And those who have died
We will always remember.
We Wear Blue.
~
As the New Year rolls in
There are more LEO’s than ever.
Protecting our public
From the petty to the terror
The new Millenium
Has changed the face of the world
But the Constitution and Bill of Rights
Will always be upheld.
I Am Proud…To Wear Blue.
