I just returned from a Tiger Cruise (parents/friends of sailors ride the carrier from its last port to home) and we had the pleasure to be on deck during launch operations and see a 'no speed limit' demo. We were no more than 30' from the planes as they left the carrier's waist cats; you could feel the exhaust as they screamed past. Full up higher than sound limit speed passes, weapons release, planes flying right over the deck...a-freaking-mazing.
Can't get enough of this stuff. Thanks for the post.
